Cyber MIDI is a MIDI controller designed to interact with interactive artworks. Its design is inspired by the futuristic hubs seen in cyberpunk films, blending technology and aesthetics into a single device. Built on an Arduino-based architecture, it provides a smooth and immersive experience, allowing users to precisely control and modulate digital inputs.
Cyber MIDI is a controller designed to enhance the interaction between users and digital art installations. Its design takes inspiration from the cyberpunk universe, echoing the futuristic interfaces seen in sci-fi movies. The electronic components’ housing was designed using Illustrator to ensure a precise and functional hardware layout.
The device’s structure is made of plexiglass, a material that combines durability and transparency, highlighting the engraved graphics created with a laser cutting machine. This machine was used not only to cut the necessary shapes for assembly but also to engrave aesthetic details that emphasize the controller’s cyberpunk style.
At the heart of the system is an Arduino Uno R3, supported by a 16-channel multiplexer, allowing multiple inputs to be managed simultaneously. Control is achieved through ten 10k potentiometers, ensuring precise MIDI parameter modulation. All components were assembled using a soldering iron, guaranteeing strong and durable connections.
